I have a ton of really great friends. Really, I do. I have fun friends, loyal friends, friends that listen, friends that talk, and friends that have always been there.
Sarah and I became best friends in Jr. High. You know, the kind of best friends that exchange BFF necklaces. Yeah, that was us. The summer before our freshman year, her parents decided to move up to Escanaba to take a job and to be closer to family. I still remember the day that she left! I rode my bike over to her house to see her one last time and I still remember her waving goodbye to me out of the back seat of her car. I still remember crying the whole way home. It was a pretty traumatic day to a couple of girls in Jr. High! And really, that day changed our lives forever because the security I had in Sarah being my best friend was now gone right before going into High School. The first couple of years were hard.
That was 15 years ago and even though it has gotten easier to be further away I still consider Sarah one of my best friends! She was in my wedding 6 years ago and now I am going to be in hers!
Sarah is getting married in August so this weekend I am heading up to Escanaba to help her celebrate at her shower and bachlorette party.
Just thought I would post a couple of fun pictures of Sarah and I from back in the day. Don't you just love my hair? It was cool then, trust me!
See you soon, Sarah!
8th grade graduatuion!
Even back then I was posing people for the camera.
