On March 13 we flew to Phoenix, AZ to visit my in-laws. It was 84 degrees! Ryan and I drove up to Las Vegas on the 15th (which was my 29th birthday) and met my brother in law, Bob and my good friend, Jess for the WPPI (Wedding and Portrait Photographers International). So, I have never spent my birthday in Vegas and it was a lot of fun. Maybe too much! :o)
I attended a lot of seminars, saw the latest and greatest in the wedding industry including the newest albums and products and got to listen to some of the best photographers out there. It was great. And, I am so totally excited for this summer and for the weddings and portraits I will be a part of.
On the 18th we drove back to AZ and spent the rest of the week with my in-laws. It was so nice and relaxing! Ryan and I were able to go on a hike, spend a day at the pool, and Ryan even got a few rounds of golf in while I laid in the sun and read a magazine. And, Carson had a blast playing with his Papa and Jaja.
Overall, the trip was wonderful. We spent time with family, I was able to relax and renew my mind and spirit, and I even learned a thing or two! I do miss the weather. I always ask myself when we are flying in over snow....WHY DO WE CHOOSE TO LIVE HERE? Don't get me wrong, I love the snow in December and January but the end of March I want to see grass and the buds on the trees.
Anyway, I have been busy since our return revising my pricing for 2008/2009 and looking into new products that I will be able to offer. I have also been doing some of the not so fun tasks such as revising contracts, checklists, and getting all of my paper work in order because by the end of the summer, I long for that organization again!
