I did it....KINDA

One of my very first posts was about me running the 25k in the RiverBank Run. Then, I decided it was going to be the 10k. Well, this morning I decided it was going to be the 5k! I just don't think I am cut out for REALLY long distances and the 10k was freaking me out. I haven't trained as much as I should and I hurt my hip the other night and it was still a little tender. So this was 5k #3 for me.

My friend Jessica and I ran the 5k together. It was a perfect day for running! Low 50's and sunny. Although I really do not love to run I do think that it is not only good for me physically but also mentally. I find myself thinking about life which isn't something that I can do much of when running after a 1 1/2 year old. It also just gives me time to thank God for all of the beautiful things He created because He knew that I would enjoy it. So, it really is good for me.

I am proud to say that I ran the whole 3.1 miles and I only stopped to untangle my ipod from my shirt!!! Yay! I don't have my official time yet but I KNOW that it was better than last year. I am going to plan on running a few more 5k's this summer (if I can find any that are not on Saturdays I am booked for weddings) so hopefully I will just be getting better and better.

Here are a few pictures from this morning.
